Today, we are living in hard economic times. Families that were once thriving are now facing financial insecurity and struggle to acquire basic necessities. Living wage jobs have been lost, while the costs for food, housing, gasoline and utilities have steadily risen. As a result, homeless families are the fastest growing segment of the homeless population.
Our goal at Family Promise is assist homeless children and their families. We provide shelter, food, and supportive services to help homeless families regain their independence.
The program uses the resources of area churches, social service agencies, and volunteers to provide a safe haven for families in transition.
Family Promise of Cumberland County is an affiliate of a national program that has over 160 networks around the nation.
